DigiLab in Andalusia

The “DigiLab” youth exchange project in beautiful Cortes de la Frontera, Andalusia brought together 30 participants for a week-long journey aimed at enhancing digital literacy and joint efforts to face modern challenges in the digital age with the help of interactive workshops and group discussions.

The program started with an introduction setting the stage for participants to introduce themselves and share their expectations, fears, and contributions for the upcoming week. Throughout the week, participants engaged in various activities covering a range of topics. Participants shared personal digital experiences, talked about online identity and managing of digital footprints, reflected on their usage patterns, privacy concerns and ways to maintain a healthy balance between their digital and offline lives.

Two evenings of the program were dedicated to intercultural evenings through interactive activities, including a Kahoot quiz with questions about participants’ home countries, traditions and languages, sharing national food, drinks and music, engaging in traditional dances circles.

Continuing the program participants have discussed the topic of fake news, media bias, and strategies for critically evaluating online information, learned how to identify misinformation, explored digital activism tools and tactics.

Another highlight of the project were the debates around different topics related to digital life, which engaged participants in heated discussions.

During the whole project participants got to enjoy the beautiful nature and cuisine of Andalusia both in the project venue in Cortes de la Frontera and during the organized excursions to the towns Setenil de las Bodegas and Ronda, receiving the very warm welcome of the local community.
